Mansouri also worked to establish San Francisco Opera's highly successful collaboration with the Kirov Opera that resulted in productions of War and Peace (1991); Boris Godunov (1992); The Fiery Angel (1994); the Company premiere of Ruslan and Lyudmila, which he directed at the Kirov in St. Petersburg during April of 1994 and at San Francisco Opera in September of 1995; Eugene Onegin (1997); and Betrothal in a Monastery (1998).
